A significant benefit of the Altresco Integrated Generation and Load Balancing Center (IGLB) is its ability to incorporate new electric generation and balancing loads as warranted. All iterations of solar energy including CST, CSP, PV and CPV have been evaluated for compatibility and configuration in electricity system and utility grid design.

In many areas, solar energy is now a viable first tier option. We actively include it in our IGLB source pool. We are very excited about the concept of Zero Carbon IGLB Centers but the energy storage capacity in the alternative energy fields are not yet mature. That said, we must be equally as committed to low cost reliable electricity using NG. However, as the Postman said, "Stuff is getting better.", the ability to use both is now reaching as much as 100% penetration in several of our configurations with the addition of thermal storage.
